Christmas Party with The Redhills
19. Dezember, 20:00 - 23:00
Come along and enjoy a really good pint, wonderful company, and a cavalcade of seasonal music (some of it will be vaguely folk-ish) superbly performed by a plethora of local talent.
Playing traditional music from around the British Isles (and the occasional dispatch from one of the colonies!) out loud and proud, The Redhills bring you anything from a morris tune to an Irish slip jig coupled with a border ballad or rip roaring sea song to the gentle strains of a rock rhythm section. They might also “folk up ” the odd rock standard, just to keep you on your toes!
Based in rural Warwickshire near Stratford-on-Avon, they have fiddle , electric and acoustic guitars, bass and myriad percussive and shakey things (which can be piled around a drum kit or a cahon, depending on stage size) as well as male and female vocals.
Floor Singers booked to perform on the night …
Band On The Rum
Guaranteed to persuade you into a party mood with much foot tapping and banter, Band on the Rum are acknowledged performers of traditional shanties and other songs of the sea.
Usually unaccompanied, the band knows how to belt out stirring shanties or soothe with easy on the ear nautical songs. Occasional humorous or moving songs on other subjects are also in Band on the Rum’s repertoire.
They will be doing an extended set to get us all singing and in the mood.
And your hosts, of course, are
Finger In The Jar
Formed especially as the host group for Atherstone Folk Club in June 2013, Finger In The Jar are Anne & Steve Beeson and Phil Benson.
Finger In The Jar perform as a group, as duos and as solo artists, depending on the songs being sung.
… and there are still floor-spots available!
Just email Phil and ask.
